MACAW CLAY LICK

Day 01:

Welcome at Puerto Maldonado’s airport, transfer to the Port where a covered boat take us forabout 1 hour down stream the Madre de Dios River toward Nái-Mecí Lodge. A tropical cocktail and meet our bilingual guide who is going to offer an introduction to the rainforest it self, immediately after a free time to relax in our fabulous bungalows. A first walk though our interesting trail system.
Dinner, talk about this first experience in the Amazon jungle and a briefing for next day’s plans. As optional a short night walk to observe insects and amphibians. Overnight at Nái-Mecí Lodge.

Day 02:

A buffet breakfast will be offered since early morning for all those doing excursions. Again in our motor boat we observe many different species of birds on the way to Sandoval Lake located in the Tambopata Reserve where if lucky it’s possible to see the family of Giant Otters, some monkeys and others. Return to Nái-Mecí Lodge and enjoy a buffet lunch.
After relaxing we can walk around the trails, use our observation tower to have the chance to see macaws and parrots nests and an incredible jungle sunset, offering a wonderful experience to observe beautiful plants and animals in their natural environment and / or live an adrenaline experience flying over the jungle form platform to platform in our canopy zip down. Dinner and overnight at Nái-Mecí Lodge.

DAY 03:
After an early breakfast, we’ll set off on a one-day boat trip (with lunch on board) to the macaw clay lick or Collpa. On our way along the Tambopata River and the reserve, we will observe animals such as caimans, turtles and a variety of birds. We arrive to a nice beach where we setup camp and enjoy dinner.

DAY 04:

Once again, very early, we’ll visit a hidden shelter to observe the clay lick and wait for the arrival of parrots, parakeets and macaws (aras). We will have the opportunity to see an amazing sunrise. We’ll return to our campsite for breakfast, then, we board our motorized river boat downstream to Nái-Mecí Lodge. We enjoy lunch on a relaxing ride.

Day 05:

Alter breakfast we leave Nái-Mecí Lodge. Our boat will take us to Puerto Maldonado Port and then continue by bus to the airport.
We invite our guests to enjoy the swimming pool, the tropical bar, pool, darts and other games.
