MACAW CLAY LICK

Day 01:
Welcome at Puerto Maldonado’s airport, transfer to the Port where a
covered boat take us for about 1 hour down stream the Madre de Dios
River toward the rangers control and the entry to Sandoval Lake located
in Tambopata Reserve. We start a 3 kilometer hike through an interesting
trail until the Lake it self and board small canoes and paddle trying to
observe monkeys, turtles, etc. and if lucky the family of Giant Otters.
We walk back to our motorized boat and arrive Nái-Mecí Lodge We have an
introduction to the rainforest speech, immediately after a free time to
relax in our fabulous bungalows. Dinner, talk about this first
experience in the Amazon jungle and a briefing for next day’s plans. As
optional a short night walk to observe insects and amphibians. Overnight
at our Lodge.

Day 02:
After an early breakfast, we’ll set off on a one-day boat trip (with
lunch on board) to the macaw clay lick or Collpa. On our way along the
Tambopata River and the reserve, we will observe animals such as
caimans, turtles and a variety of birds. We arrive to a nice beach where
we setup camp and enjoy dinner.
DAY 03:
Once again, very early, we’ll visit a hidden shelter to observe the
clay lick and wait for the arrival of parrots, parakeets and macaws. We
will have the opportunity to see an amazing sunrise. We’ll return to our
campsite for breakfast, then, we board our motorized river boat
downstream to Nái-Mecí Lodge. Night walk to observe insects and
anphibians. Dinner and overnight at Nái-Mecí Lodge.
Day 04:
After breakfast we leave Nái-Mecí Lodge. Our boat will take us to
Puerto Maldonado Port and then continue by bus to the airport.
We invite our guests to enjoy the swimming pool, the tropical bar, pool,
darts and other games.
