Day 1. Transfer in/out.
Visit the town of Nauta. Boat ride up the Marañon river reaching the
Yana yacu-Pucate tributary. Take in the pink and grey river dolphins
before reaching the INRENA checkpoint. We will stay in a house on the
river’s edge and take a night excursion to see the nocturnal forest
life. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 2.
After breakfast we will leave up the river and will take a walk through
the jungle to get to know some of the flora and fauna. In the afternoon
we will fish for piranhas and other fish such as the tucunare. In the
evening we’ll take a canoe ride to find alligators and other nocturnal
species. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 3.
After breakfast we will take an excursion in a boat to enjoy the huge
variety of birds and monkeys and will lunch on the boat. We’ll reach a
local community ‘Yarina’ and will see the lifestyle of the inhabitants
before spending the night in the village.
Day 4.
The day will begin with a walk deep into the jungle to discover the huge
biodiversity of the Amazon. After lunch we’ll begin our return journey
and will spend the night in the small village of ’20 de Enero’.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5.
After breakfast we’ll leave for Nauta and will have lunch in a local
restaurant. We’ll then travel back to Iquitos in time for any necessary
airport transfers.
All clients for this tour should be in Iquitos at least one day before
the beginning of the tour.
We will cover approximately 360km (218 miles) in this trip.
